Here at the m@trix we have attempted to provide a pleasant and safe environment, which can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages. To help ensure this holds true, we have our 10 commandments:
Do not attempt to download and install, or update, anything on our workstations... chances are it's already available (and your install will almost certainly be blocked)!
If you can't find what you need... please ask!
P2P applications such as LimeWire, Morpheus and µTorrent are blocked from running on our workstations (even from USB drives).
These applications typically open multiple connections to increase the speed of downloads, and slow the network for everyone else.
For the same reason, FTP and (other) download accelerators are banned from use...
...including those installed on visitors laptops!
No Hacking of any kind! This includes maliciously accessing our workstation hard drives, or using another visitor's account (or workstation) without their permission.
Note: Visitors have have had their session terminated, and been banned, for breaking these rules... You have been warned!
Remember... at the m@trix we have many families with young children, and (young) teenagers, using our facilities.
Accordingly, blocks have been installed to prevent access (by all visitors) to some of the more hardcore forms of pornography.
We ask for you to use common sense, and refrain from accessing websites that might be unsuitable, or offensive, to other visitors.
Please also refrain from any use of obscene language. Keep it clean!
We reserve the right to terminate the session, and/or dismiss from the premises, anyone who abuses this policy.
- We are not responsible for things beyond our control... including:
- Power outages.
- Internet outages.
- Lost or forgotten passwords.
- Your favorite website not being available.
Hotmail & Windows Live (MSN) Messenger logins being slow, or Messenger crashing and locking up the workstation!
Please direct your complaints to Microsoft... or better yet... switch to Yahoo!
Please take care of our equipment. Do not pound on our keyboards or mice, and take care of our headsets!
...if you break it, you buy it!
As m@trix offers an extensive range of refreshments, we do not allow visitors to bring their own on to the premises...
...with the exception of bottled water (we don't want you to pass out in the middle of that long email).
If you are going to eat or drink at our computers... please be careful!
If you cannot be careful... we have tables for eating.
Similarly, smokers are requested to refrain from scattering ash everywhere... there are ashtrays available for your use - use them!
...and please be considerate of others around you... particularly when the nearby workstations are also being used.
Please leave your workstation as you found it... mum is not here to clean up after you!
Put the keyboard, mouse and headset back as they were, and put your rubbish in the bin. If you spill something, please let us know.
...we won’t yell, we just want to clean it up before it dries to a hard sticky mess!
Finally, we reserve the right to dismiss anyone from the m@trix that we feel is not in a fit and suitable state to use the facilities.
And our 11th commandment... this is Greece after all!
...don't put the paper in the toilet!
The most important rule of all... be considerate of others and have fun!
